De leerling-piloot, de alleen in het toestel zat, verdwaalde. In een poging zich te oriënteren, maakte hij bij Beek een noodlanding. Er is een gerede kans dat hiermee voor het eerst een luchtvaartuig op [[gemeente Bergh|Berghs]] grondgebied landde.<br /> <br /> Het landelijke dagblad ''Het Vaderland'' maakte de volgende dag melding van deze noodlanding en berichtte de dag daarna over de verdere afloop.
