Na zijn priesterwijding op 20 november [[1852]] werd hij als kapelaan in Groessen aangesteld. Op 6 november [[1857]] werd hij kapelaan in de [[Sint Oswalduskerk|parochie Zeddam]], waar hij bleef tot zijn overplaatsing naar Hoogland in [[1858]]. Nog datzelfde jaar ging hij terug naar Groessen, om in [[1861]] kapelaan te worden in [[Rijnwaarden|Herwen en Aerdt]].<br />
<br />
In [[1862]] werd hij pastoor in Leerdam, waar hij overleed op 7 januari [[1867]], vijftig jaar oud.<br />
