<p><b>Nieuwe pagina</b></p><div>'''Petrus Reinders''' werd rooms-katholiek gedoopt te [['s-Heerenberg]] op 3 september [[1728]]. De namen van zijn ouders zijn niet bekend, maar zijn peetouders waren Casparus Lentzen en Wendelina Elswijk.<br />

Petrus Reinders is mogelijk de soldaat die ingeschreven als Pieter Reijnse uit 's-Heerenberg op 8 januari [[1749]] met de ''Sparenrijk'' van de VOC-kamer van Amsterdam naar Batavia is vertrokken.<br />
<br />
Kort na vertrek lag de ''Sparenrijk'' twee keer een aantal dagen in Spithead, een beschutte haven aan de zuidkust van Engeland bij het eiland Wight. Dat was van 20 januari tot 9 februari en van 12 tot 22 februari. De reden hiervoor is niet bekend; mogelijk had het schip averij opgelopen of was er een conflict met de Engelsen.<br />
<br />
De ''Sparenrijk'' heeft niet bij het VOC-station op Kaap de Goede Hoop gelegen, maar ergens anders in de Valsbaai, die zich naast de Kaap uitstrekt. Dat was van 16 juni tot 8 juli, waarna de aakomst in Batavia was op 9 september 1749.<br />
<br />
Na aankomst is Pieter in de Oost gebleven, waar hij tien jaar later, op 23 november [[1759]], werd vermoord.<br />
