<p></p> <p><b>Nieuwe pagina</b></p><div>Op 10 januari [[1489]] werd er in [['s-Heerenberg]] door Graaf Oswald van den Berg een markt ingesteld. Deze werd gehouden voor het [[Stadhuis]].<br /> <br /> Vanaf [[1882]] heeft de markt een vaste vorm gekregen. Eerst nog in de vorm van een viertal jaarmarkten maar vanaf [[1894]] tot een weekmarkt die zelfs tweemal per week, op de dinsdag en de vrijdag, plaatsvond. De Markt was ook omvangrijker en strekte zich uit over [[De Markt]] en de [[Molenstraat]].<br /> <br /> <br /> In [[1956]] is na 30 jarige afwezigheid weer een weekmarkt georganiseerd op De Markt. Wegens gebrek aan belangstelling en de geldsanering in [[Duitsland]] werd de markt destijds opgeheven.</div>
